India launches new app on 7th International Yoga Day

NEW DELHI - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a new application "M-Yoga" on the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day on Monday.

The theme of this year's International Yoga Day is "Yoga for Wellness", which focuses on practicing Yoga for physical and mental wellbeing.

In his televised address, Modi said the new application would contain Yoga training videos in different languages of the world. The fusion of modern technology and ancient scientific knowledge will benefit all, he added.

The Yoga application has been made in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). Modi said, "If there are threats to humanity, Yoga often gives us a way of holistic health. Yoga also gives us a happier way of life.

I am sure yoga will continue to play a preventive and promotive role in the healthcare of the masses." Meanwhile, local TV media channels showed cabinet ministers leading groups of people performing Yoga exercises from different locations.
