Cambodia is considering on vaccinating the vaccine for the children to against Covid-19.
Phnom Penh (MGO) - A senior official at the Ministry of Health said that while Cambodia was focusing on vaccinating the Covid-19 vaccine for people over 18 years old, Cambodia is also considering on the second step in vaccinating children to against the Covid-19 disease.
Ms. Youk Sambath, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, said on June 19, that Sinovac vaccine is capable of vaccinating on children, but Cambodia in targeting vaccinations on over age of 18, to make sure that everything goes after to the plan of the Royal Government first."For Sinovac, which can be given to children, we will be able to continue working with Sinovac company to consider whether the second phase of this vaccination strategy will be implemented on children from how old to how old and also need to consider the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Please be inform that 1 million doses of Sinovac vaccine, a government ordered from China, has arrived Cambodia yesterday morning, while another 2 million doses of vaccine will arrive at the end of June. As of June 19, 2021, Cambodia has vaccinated more than 3.3 million people nationwide or equal to 33.11%.
