7,000 hectares of agricultural land in Banteay Meanchey province flooded by rain

Banteay Meanchey (MGO) - As of September 24, 2021, the director of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said that the flooding of 7,000 hectares of people's crops in 6 cities and districts of Banteay Meanchey province under the preliminary assessment, there are about 5,000 hectares of rice, about 2,000 hectares of cassava and other vegetables.

 


Among the six districts affected by the floods, Serei Sophorn and Poipet city were the hardest hit by heavy rains and partial flooding from the upper reaches of the river in Borvel district, Battambang province. The floods in Mongkul Borei district have about 700 families that were evacuated to safety, while in Phnom Srok district, authorities have 59 families that were evacuated to safety.
