109 cases of Delta variant have found the Ministry of Health has announced
Phnom Penh (MGO) – 109 cases of Delta variant has detected, which of 43 cases have detected on July 31 and further 66 cases found on August 1 by analytical results from the Institut Pasteur. This is according to the announcement of MoH on August 1.
According to the press release of the MoH has stated the analytical result which found the type of B.1.617-2 Delta variant on July 31 have found on 43 people of which 21 people are female and on August 1, have found on 66 people of which 27 people are female. Among the patients, 5 people have resident in Phnom Penh who are a Cambodian migrant worker returning from Thailand, a Patient at Calmette Hospital, a cleaner, an emergency patient at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital and a foreign traveler from Malaysia.
In addition, patients from other provinces such as 2 cases in Kampong Cham, 34 cases in Oddor Meanchey, 7 cases in Bateay Meanchey, 5 cases in Battambong, 29 cases in Pie Lin, 22 cases in Siem Reap, 2 cases in Tbong Khmum, 2 cases in Prey Veng and 1 case in Kampong Thom.In the announcement His Excellency Mam Bunheng, the Minister of Health has remined and insist to the public and all people throughout Cambodia to be high vigilance, protect itself by being able to change their lifestyle in accordance with the slogan “Learn to live normal with Covid-19 in the new context of Covid-19” refer to prevent manage and cut off the contagious chain especially, the new Delta variant or various viruses which may occur in the Kingdom of Cambodia eventually.
“Please continue adhere to implement the measures 3 dos and 3 don’ts according to the press released of MoH on July 28, 2021, on strengthening and implement the protection measures in particular, individuals need to be involved properly, consistently and thoroughly,” HE added.“Separately, individual who required to be quarantine must abide the quarantine principle and follow the guidelines of the management committee at that location to prevent large-scale transmission in the community,” the Minister's additional confirmation.
